Professor Anil Kumar is best known all over the world as a translator of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's discourses from Telugu to English. Swami blessed him with this assignment for 23 years... longer than any other translator. Professor Anil Kumar is also known all over the world as the author of many books on Swami's message, mission and teachings for leading an ideal human life. Currently his publications include 20 books in English and 6 in Telugu language. Professor Anil Kumar received his undergraduate degree from A.C. College, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh and his master's degree from Andhra University, Waltair, Andhra Pradesh. He was a Lecturer in Botany, A.C. College, Guntur from 1963 to 1989 before starting his service at Sri Sathya Sai University. Prof. Anil Kumar has served our beloved Swami in various capacities since 1980. He was appointed as a Zonal Convener of Sri Sathya Sai Organizations of Andhra Pradesh in 1980, Vice President in 1984 and finally served as the State President from 1985 to 1989. He was then appointed Principal, Sri Sathya Sai University, Whitefield Campus, Bangalore. He served in that position from 1989 to 1995. Since 1995 to until recently, he served as the Professor of Bio Sciences, Sri Sathya Sai University, Prasanthi Nilayam campus. Professor Anil Kumar travels extensively to give talks on Swami's message & mission. In addition to giving talks in several states of India, he has also travelled to Sri Lanka , Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia , Brunei, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand , USA, UK , Canada, Argentina, Mexico and Brazil to speak to the devotees in these countries. While in Prasanthi Nilayam, his Sunday morning talks in the ashram are very well attended as are his Thursday talks outside the ashram. He also gives talks to the visiting Sai groups and youth groups from India and various other countries. Professor Anil Kumar is one of those rare individuals who has been blessed by Swami to observe and absorb His message from such close quarters... and for such a long time.

Mrs. Vijaya Lakshmi Kamaraju has been an ardent devotee of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for a very, very long time and a constant support for her husband, Professor Anil Kumar, as they immersed themselves in the service of our beloved Swami for over four decades. She has authored 4 books in Telugu which are translations of Professor Kumar's talks on Sai Baba's mission and message. She is a loving mother of three daughters and one son who are all happily married and the grandmother of seven grand children.
